FIELD: lighting equipment. SUBSTANCE: metal-halogen lamp has burner of optically transparent material with sealed electrodes. Burner is filled with inert gas, buffer and additives to provide burner with halogenides of radiating metals. Halogenides of cobalt and lead in the amount from 0.1 to 5.0 and from 0.4 to 15.0 μmole/cm3 are used as specified additives. Apart from them there are injected additives to provide burner with halogenides of nickel and iron in the amount from 0.15 to 4.0 and from 0.2 to 6.0 μmol/cm3. Mercury in the amount from 0.5 to 45.0 μmol/cm3 is used as buffer. Pressure of inert gas in lamp amounts to 1.33 up to 20.0 kPa. Zinc halogenide in the amount from 0.4 to 12.0 μmol/cm3 can be used as buffer under same' pressure of inert gas. Inert gas with pressure from 26.6 to 200.0 kPa can also be used as buffer. EFFECT: facilitated manufactured, prolonged service life of lamps. 5 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl
