FIELD: pipe line engineering. SUBSTANCE: fluid is cut-off from a defective part. Fluid remains are drained through defect or engineering opening. The defective part is cut-off. Plugs are mounted at the ends of the pipe line to prevent supplying fluid vapor in the zone of welding. The fluid remains are burned out on walls of the pipe line in front of the plugs. The plugs are constructed as cylinders with flanges one of which has through openings. Polymine, which is preliminary wetted by water, is applied between the flanges before mounting the plugs. The plugs are then inserted into the pipe line. The flanges with openings face each other. Water is fed to the polymine through the openings. EFFECT: simplified method. 2 cl, 4 dwg
