FIELD: oil refining. SUBSTANCE: catalyst contains platinum, zinc, chlorine, sulfur and carrier in form of aluminium oxide and presents a complex of the following element composition, mas. %: Al 51.04-52.32; O 45.36-46.49; Pt 0.2-0.6; Cl 0.8-2.0; S 0.1-0.5; Zn 0.1-0.5. Catalyst additionally contains promoter taken from group including rhenium, manganese, tin, tungsten iridium, rhodium, germanium, molybdenum, lead and presents a complex of the following element composition, mas.%: Al 49.76-52.15; O 44.24-46.35; Pt 0.2-0.6; Cl 0.8-2.0; S 0.1-0.5; Zn 0.1-0.5; Me 0.1-2.4. Catalyst is prepared by impregnation of extrudates or balls of aluminum oxide with aqueous solution containing compounds of platinum, chlorine and sulfur, and promoter, whenever required. Added to impregnation solution is acetic or formic acid. Temperature is raised up to 75-105 C and it is held up to attaining pH 4.1-6.0. Excessive solution is discharged. Then, it is impregnated with solution of zinc compound and with solution of promoter, whenever required, and dried. Catalyst is calcined in current of dry air and reduced with dried hydrogen. Catalyst characteristics: activity up to 94.3, catalysate yield up to 88.6 mas.%. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 cl, 1 tbl
