FIELD: oxygen-converter steel production. SUBSTANCE: converter is loaded with scrap, part of lime, molten pig iron and they exercise joint heating of the whole charge by gas-oxygen flare with factor of oxygen excess equal to 0.98 1.10 and total consumption of oxygen for heating 36 41 36-48 m3/t scrap, and lime is added before beginning of heating in amount of 20 35 kg/t of metal scrap. The rest part of lime is added to charge together with carbon material under consumption of carbon of 11-21 kg/t of scrap. EFFECT: method is used in oxygen-converter steel production. 1 tbl
