FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: during the next steel tapping from converter, all slag and a part of steel equalling 0.1-0.9 weight of tapped metal is left in converter, and carbon-containing materials in fraction of 10-50 mm in the amount of 15-55 kg per ton of tapped metal are added. Metal is subjected to top blowing with oxygen at flow rate of 2-10 cu.m/t.min for 1-15 min. The first portion of solid iron charge is loaded in the amount equalling the weight of steel left from previous heat. Oxygen blowing is carried out for 3-120 min at flow rate of 2-8 cu.m/t.min with addition of carbon-containing materials in the amount of 25-250 kg per ton of tapped metal. Slag is flushed in the amount of 50-70 wt.-% from converter, and poured into converter is pig iron in the amount of 0.07-0.65 of weight of tapped metal. The second portion of solid iron charge is added in the amount of 0.03-0.25 of weight of tapped metal. Up to the end of heat, the melt is blown with oxygen at flow rate of 2-4 cu.m/t.min. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 tbl
