FIELD: air cooling systems. SUBSTANCE: main flow of air is passed through dry passage which is in heat exchange relation with wet passage; then auxiliary flow is separated from main flow which is passed as counter-flow relative to main flow along wetted surface of wet passage after which it is discharged into atmosphere; main flow is formed through mixing the atmospheric air with room air before admitting it to dry passage and auxiliary flow is divided into two flows which are passed through both outer surfaces of dry passage. Device for realization of this method has housing with sump, heat exchange surfaces made of plates in form of sections which form dry passages together with walls made of moisture-proof material for dry air and wet passages made of capillary porous material for wet air; besides that, device is provided with delivery fan and inlet and outlet branch pipes; two wet passages correspond respectively to each dry passage of one section; wet passages are arranged symmetrically relative to dry passage; each wet passage is formed by outer wall of dry passage and surface of capillary porous material; inlet branch pipe is connected with atmosphere and with room.
