FIELD: foundry engineering. SUBSTANCE: metal feeds into crystallizer, ingot is drawn out of crystallizer with varying speed, crystallizer is set in reciprocated motion. Temperature of crystallizer working walls is measured lengthwise and along perimeter of ingot with the help of thermocouples at least on two levels of ingot length. Space between levels corresponds to 0,7-1,0 and 1,4-2,2 of ingot thickness from metal meniscus. In the process of casting point of working walls temperature increase for 10-25 per cent of working value at the upper measuring level is detected. In a period equal to l/vp temperature increase point at the lower measuring level is detected and in case of its increase for the same relative value crystallizer reciprocating movement frequency increases for 3-25 per cent of working value. l is a space between temperature measuring levels of crystallizer working walls; vp ingot drawing speed working value, m/min. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 1 tbl
