FIELD: machine engineering; metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method consists in supplying the metal to mould, drawing of ingot from it at variable speed, setting the mould to reciprocal motion, supplying the layer of slag mixture to meniscus of metal in mould, cooling of working walls and measuring of temperature of the body of the mould working walls through the length and perimeter of ingot by means of thermocouples. In the course of continuous casting , temperature of the body of mould working walls is measured through the length of ingot positioned in the mould at least on two levels at a distance of 0.2...0.3 and 0.35...0.5 of ingot thickness from meniscus of metal in the mould, respectively. Speed of drawing of ingot decreases as the value of temperature at lower level increases and vice versa. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of casting. 1 tbl
