FIELD: leather industry. SUBSTANCE: depilated hide flesh side of hide is pickled with sulfuric acid, sodium chloride and ammonium sulfate at their consumption, 0.2-0.3; 1.5-2.5 and 3.5-4.5 of hide mass, respectively. Then process involves tanning, shaving, additional tanning with chrome tanning agent and then with synthetic tanning agent at consumption 4-5% of shaven leather mass (as tanning) following by neutralization, staining, greasing, drying, stretching, polishing and pressing. Then metallocomplexing dye aqueous solution is applied on the leather following by fixing and finishing. EFFECT: improved method of leather production. 1 tbl
