FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: lighting device has torch 1 mounted in external bulb 6 and filled with inert gas and radiating dopes; electrode 2 is mounted on one end of torch and two electrodes 3 and 4, on its other end; each of electrodes is connected in series with ballast 5. Novelty is that radiating dopes are introduced in lamp torch in following composition, mcm. mol/cu.cm: indium halide 0.15-5.0; thallium halides 0.1-4.0; sodium halides - 0.5-10.0; inert gas pressure is between 1.33 and 80.0 kPa. Lamp torch is also filled with mercury in quantity of 0.5 to 60.0 mcm. mol/cu. cm. Electrical characteristics of ballasts are chosen from equation given in description of invention.
