FIELD: leather industry. SUBSTANCE: method of continuous bating and laying-along of laminar products consists in moving the product in the direction parallel to its working plane and application of opposite-directed reciprocating strain and application of opposite-directed reciprocating strain forces to both sides of the product. These forces act in the direction perpendicular to the product plane due to the preset stroke of the working tool. In this case forces are applied to one side of the product with the aid of the working tool made of stiff members, which move perpendicularly to the product plane and act upon relatively remote sections of the product surface. Strain forces are applied to the other side of the product with the aid of a uniform continuous layer of elastic-flexible strained material. The stiff members of the working tool have a spherical cone shape with a larger radius of curvature than their working stroke so as to ensure a relatively large contact surface for decreasing the unit pressure acting upon the opposite sides of the product. The installation for continuous bating and laying-along of laminar products, having two flexible bands facing each other positioned for simultaneous movement together with the laminar product located between them, in the direction parallel to the plane of the bands, uses at least one pair of parallel working plates installed on the external surfaces of the flexible bands. One of the working plates carries the stiff members of the working tool on its working surface. The other working plate has a flat rigid support. At least one of the parallel working plates is installed for reciprocating cyclic motion in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the flexible bands, between the maximum and minimum distances relative to the other working plate. A uniform continuous layer of elastic-flexible strained material is secured on the flat rigid support of the other working plate. This material has a thickness equal at least to the difference between the maximum and minimum distances between the parallel working plates. The stiff members of the working tool have a spherical shape with a larger radius of curvature than the difference of distances between the parallel working plates. EFFECT: facilitated procedure. 3 cl, 6 dwg
