FIELD: welding. SUBSTANCE: steam-and-water plasmotron has housing 1, electric holder 5 with electrode 6 fastened in it and mounted in the housing, nozzle 13, chamber for the arc shaping, cooling system in the form of channels and branch pipes in the housing with branch pipe 2 for feeding water with regulating device 3 and a device for steam generation made as steam generator 20. Steam generator 20 has glass 21 with tube 22 fastened on the inactive face end of the plasmotron. Tube 22 has ribs on the outer surface and is mounted in the glass with a gap relative to it. Steam generator 20 also has heating element 25 fastened on glass 21 equipped by a supply source and a voltage regulator. The cavity of tube 22 is connected with the chamber for the arc shaping and with the cavity of glass 21; the cavity of glass 21 is connected with the cooling system. The temperature-sensitive element connected with the voltage regulator is mounted on the chamber for the arc shaping. EFFECT: reduced loss of ebergy for the cooling of heat-charged blocks of the plasmotron and for the plasma formation of the working body which results in raising the power of the plasma arc, stability of the plasmotron operation and possible regulation of the plasmotron power in the process of its operation. 2 cl, 1 dwg
