FIELD: foundry engineering. SUBSTANCE: device for continuous casting has two rolls with parallel axes forming space for continuous casting of liquid metal between each other and side walls. Thus each side wall has at least one lateral part placed opposite to flat front end surface of one of the rolls. This lateral part is formed by a disk section with diameter equal to mentioned adjoining roll. Central part of side wall is placed opposite to casting space and made up of insulating fire-proof material. Disk lateral part is made up of material characterized by heat conduction and mechanical strength exceeding fire-proof properties of insulating material. Disk lateral side is constructed as frustum of a cone. Its surface of the greatest curvature radius is turned to the roll. Frustum of a cone surface is engaged with insulating material of central part. EFFECT: improved design. 13 cl, 14 dwg
