FIELD: metallurgy, namely continuous casting plants. SUBSTANCE: plant includes two rolls mounted on horizontal axles one near another and rotating in opposite directions. Casting space between said rolls is closed by lateral wall. Lower portion of lateral wall is made of refractory material having high hardness in zone of contact of said lower portion with edges of rolls or with melt metal, possibly being in process of solidifying or with edge of crystallized band. Above mentioned lower portion has on its surface turned to casting space recess filled with second refractory material. Preferably, hardness of second refractory material is less than that of first refractory material and it has high heat insulation properties.
