FIELD: rebuilding of car wheels. SUBSTANCE: method involves facing rebuilding metal onto rotating wheel; cooling wheel and subjecting it to machining; prior to facing process, providing double-sided heating of wheel fin base to 200-250 C by means of outside heating device; facing heating roll onto fin apex. Facing of rebuilding metal is conducted by successive applying of annular rolls from fin base to its apex, with the following conditions being maintained: voltage of electric arc 30-40 V, current intensity 330-370 A, speed at facing 28-32 m/h. Welding wire used as metal to be faced onto wheel fin contains carbon in an amount 0.7-6.5 times less than in basic metal, manganese in an amount 0.7-1.6 times as much as in basic metal, and chromium in an amount of 0.9-1.2% Upon facing, wheel is cooled in heat-insulating chamber for at least 6 hours to 120 C. EFFECT: increased service life of car wheels. 1 dwg
