FIELD: railway transport; repair of worn-out parts. SUBSTANCE: prior to carrying out electric arc surfacing, pivot block is heated to 200-250C. Surfacing of thrust surface is started from end face of pivot block and hammering of last deposited bead is carried out. Surfacing of support surface is started from center pin hole. Components of welding wire used for reconditioning are chosen depending on components of metal used for manufacture of pivot block. Flux used for surfacing contains the following components, mass %: silicon oxide 42-47; manganese oxide 34-38; calcium oxide less than 10; copper oxide less than 7; aluminum oxide less than 6; sulfur and phosphorus oxide less than 0.12. After surfacing, heat treatment at temperature of 600-650 C is carried out. EFFECT: provision of quality deposited metal layer as to chemical composition, structure and hardness. 2 dwg
