FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: crank mechanism is made up as a housing constructed as cylindrical gear having inner engagement interacting with gear-satellite pivotally connected with the piston and crank. The gear ratio of the gear-satellite and cylindrical gear is 1:2. The axis of the pivot connection of the gear-satellite and piston and initial circumferences of teeth of the gear are coincidence at extreme top and bottom positions. The piston transmits force to the gear-satellite through the pivot which in turn transmit force to the crank owing to decreasing inner engagement of housing with pivot connection. The force obtained converts reciprocation of the piston to rotation of crank. The gear-satellite serves as a connecting rod, and, hence, side connecting rod reaction on the cylinder is absent and friction force are decreased. EFFECT: improved design. 3 dwg
