FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves thermomechanical treatment of aluminum-copper-lithium system sheet alloy by subjecting it to preliminary quenching followed by cold deformation and ageing. Cold deformation stage is conducted in compressed stressed state of alloy, with extending force being applied to the zones of maximum plastic deformation. The level of force provides for equalization of internal stresses through the whole section and predetermined geometry of semi-finished product. Upon termination of cold deformation, quenching is repeated in water from the temperature of 515.535 C followed by extension straightening with residual deformation level of 2.0.5.0% Artificial ageing is conducted at 145-160 C for 40-60 hours.
