FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: drill rod includes thermally treated body, rock cutting tool, and thermally treated nipple threaded connecting members. Rod body is thermally treated, at least, on the length of 1.5-2.0 m on the side of rock cutting tool, i.e. on the section of intensive wear being in zone of active removal of cuttings. Steel 30 KhGSA is used for connecting members. Rod body may be thermally treated on the side of members of drill rod string on the length of 1.5-2.0 m. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 cl, 3 dwg
