FIELD: petroleum refining. SUBSTANCE: method involves mixing the reforming catalysate (octane number 93, containing admixtures of low-octane aliphatic hydrocarbons C5-C7) with extractive reagent in a mass relation of (0.5-3):1. The extractive reagent is benzene with additions of 3-10 wt.-% of pseudocumene. Extraction is carried out in rectification column, taking out the overhead fraction of high-boiling components in the form of side-cut distillate admixtures of hydrocarbons in extractive reagent, and drawing the fraction of high-octane component of motor fuel from the bottom of the column.
