FIELD: powder metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: silver powder and other components are mixed. Silver acetate is used as binding agent. The mixture is wetted with, for example, 3-per cent aqueous solution of iminodiacetic acid, then granulated by rubbing through a sieve and dried at 200 250 C. Silver carbonate may be added in the charge. Iminodiacetic acid solution in diluted acetic acid is used to wet the mixture. EFFECT: use of silver acetate as binding agent allows one to cake pressed pieces in both oxidizing and protective atmosphere without adding impurities in final product, in so doing, increased product density is possible. 3 cl, 1 tbl
