FIELD: gas jet cutting of metals. SUBSTANCE: method involves burning combustible-oxidant mixture in burner cavity at pressure exceeding that of surrounding medium. The process is carried out by high-temperature supersonic gas jet, whose static pressure is maintained at level at least equal to surrounding medium pressure. Jet delivery sonic speed ratio is maintained within the range of 1.1-4.8, jet-material melting temperature ratio is within the range of 1.2-4.5.
