FIELD: cutting of hard materials by a high-energy gas-abrasive jet. SUBSTANCE: surface of hard materials is worked in two stages: first the material surface is heated by a gas high- temperature heating jet up to reduction of its mechanical strength, then the softened surface is destructed by a high-energy gas-abrasive cutting jet. The heating jet is directed to the surface under working at an angle of 15 to 35 deg., and the cutting jet is directed to the softened section and moved along it at an angle of 25 to 40 deg. The heating and cutting jets are in the same plane perpendicular to the surface under working. The plant for working of hard material surface uses a high-temperature heating jet generator having a heating nozzle, high-energy cutting jet generator having a cutting nozzle producing this jet and located behind the heating nozzle relative to the direction of plant movement in the process of working. The nozzles are positioned in the same plane for their relative movement in this plane and relative to the surface under working. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 8 cl, 5 dwg, 4 tbl
