FIELD: sewage treatment. SUBSTANCE: sewage treatment of heavy metal ions is conducted in continuous duty with the use of flow discharge at a voltage of 0.5 to 2.0 kV and current of 50 to 150 μ, with the liquid layer being treated being 1.6 to 100 mm thick, and temperature being below the boiling of water being treated. Treatment is effected in an installation using horizontal or inclined chambers, with electrodes positioned in them in water and/or above its surface, the electrodes positioned in water under treatment are cooled, and an overflow device. Electrodes positioned above the surface of water being treated are made as a cone, with the vertex directed towards thew water surface. The cathode and/or anode are located above the water surface. The chambers are additionally furnished with a diaphragm positioned between the anode and cathode. EFFECT: facilitated procedure. 5 cl, 6 dwg, 1 tbl
