FIELD: application of protective covering by detonation spraying. SUBSTANCE: feeding of transporting gass to powder to be sprayed is exercised from limited volume of high pressure. Filling of the volume is carried out with speed equal to frequency of repetition of ignition spark. Gas products of burning of detonating mixture are used as transporting gas. Pressure of transporting gas in limited volume of high pressure is fixed in limits of 0.01 MPa to 0.6 MPa. For the purpose chamber of high pressure with locking valve at entrance in nozzle is mounted in apparatus between source of transporting gas and nozzle to feed transporting gas. High pressure chamber has volume, that does not exceed sum of volumes of lower and upper bunkers and volume of pipeline for carrying suspended powder off. Lower bunker is made in the form of truncated to downward cone of material with factor of heat conducting of no less than 100 W/(m.K). High pressure chamber through valve, that operates in single direction, is connected with barrel of detonating apparatus in interval between plug to ignite detonating mixture and pipeline to feed spraying material in barrel.
