FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: the product: butylbenzyl phthalate. The composition of the product is 90.7-91.0% Reagent 1: phthalic anhydride. Reagent 2: butyl alcohol. Reaction conditions: heating followed by neutralization in phosphate buffer with a pH of 6.0-8.0 the pH of the reaction mixture being 7.0-8.0, followed by separation from the reaction mixture the supernatant layer containing sodium monobutyl phthalate which is condensed with butyl chloride in the presence of triethylamine.
