FIELD: acceleration equipment. SUBSTANCE: regions with decelerating HF field capable of quadrupole symmetry are formed to increase limiting current of accelerator in intervals of each period of focusing which total number is chosen even does not exceed N-number of accelerating gaps. Electric fields which direction match direction of accelerating field at any moment are formed between regions which considerably expands region of lateral stability of beam. EFFECT: increased limiting current of accelerator, expanded region of lateral stability of beam of charged particles. 5 dwg
