FIELD: charged particle accelerators.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of charged particle accelerators with a large mass and with a small electric charge and can be used to create accelerators of cluster ions for use in nuclear energy, solving problems of controlled thermonuclear fusion and for studying the properties of matter at ultrahigh energy density. The injector for the cluster ion accelerator implements the simultaneous extraction of charged particles from the plasma of several sources of cluster ions through several channels, the formation of ion beams, the acceleration of their compression and input into the accelerating HF structure of the accelerator. The injector contains several spaced apart channels, the input aperture of each of which is connected to a separate source of cluster ions. The injector uses a combination of crossed force fields: an axially symmetric electric field and a multipole magnetic field with a complex configuration of field lines.
EFFECT: increase in the current in a beam of cluster ions with different masses at the exit of the accelerator.
