FIELD: civil engineering. SUBSTANCE: flat guard member used in civil engineering comprises an insulating layer and a structural layer made, respectively, from porous and dense building mortar with gypsum binder the density and strength of layers relating, respectively, as 1:2-7 and 1:4 20 while layer thicknesses as 2.5-10:1. The structural layer is made from a mixture of mortars one of which contains a hydrophobic addition or colorants. Manufacture of a flat guard building member involves preparation of a gypsum porous mortar and a gypsum dense building mortar, laying the porous mortar and insulating layer into the formwork, holding it after the beginning of setting for 60-600 s, laying the dense mortar of structural layer.
