FIELD: electric engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has housing with upper graphite electrode and bottom electrode. Both electrodes are connected to power supply with current regulator and current sensor. At least one additional resistor is introduced. It is connected in series with bottom electrode, current sensor and ground circuit. If device has several bottom electrodes, comparison unit is introduced. Current sensors are connected to inputs of comparison unit, its outputs are connected to corresponding current regulators. EFFECT: protection from by-pass arcs. 2 cl, 2 dwg
