FIELD: biotechnology and chemistry of high molecular biologically active compounds and biological practice for the production of a stable oxygen transfer agent having prolonged antioxidant activity. SUBSTANCE: 1-2% by weight of glutaric aldehyde (GA) is successively added to a 0.4-1.0 $ by weight of dismutase superoxide (DSO) solution at a DSO to GA molar ratio of (95.4-228) and 0.68-5.0% by weight of a hemoglobin (HG) solution at a DSO to HG molar ratio of 1:(1-13.4). The desired DSO derivative is biodestructable in the blood route. It maintains total superoxide activity and has a high level of a gas- transport function, and high MM values promote prolonged activity. The process allows the transfer agent to be covalently added to the polymer, this corresponds to 68-93% by weight of DSO introduced in the reaction.
