FIELD: hydroacoustic measurements. SUBSTANCE: method of determining coefficient of dispersing acoustic waves by bottom of ocean is based on directed reception of an acoustic field by a moving submerged apparatus and on evaluation of reflection coefficient of sound from the bottom of ocean. The method comprises steps of using as acoustic field dynamic noise of ocean, being swell with force of two or more; performing three- dimension filtering of that noise with use of four-channel reception tract; simultaneously converting the ocean noise, had been received, to energy spectra at outputs of four reception channels; determining before- hand energy spectra of own noises of a receiving antenna of the submerged apparatus, being moved with the same speed as upon measuring the dispersion coefficient at outputs of the same receiving channels; then according to data, had been received, determining the coefficient of dispersing sound by bottom of ocean. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of metering the coefficient of dispersion of sound by ocean bottom. 3 cl, 2 dwg
