FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: heat carrier is fed to the apparatus by way of two or more streams. One of the streams is central. The other stream is coaxial to the central stream and spiral-like rotating stream. The material is dried in the bed comprising the root zone, central rarified core, concentrated periphery zone of particles to be dried, and top zone defined by its convex part. The rotating stream is fed tangentially in the horizontal plane to provide the spiral stream which is twisted in the direction of the center of the apparatus. The flow rate of the heat carrier in the rotating stream relates to the flow rate in the central stream as 1:2-1:9. At least a portion of the central stream is fed tangentially and distributed over periphery of the root zone of the bed. At least a portion of the central stream is fed radially and distributed over periphery of the root zone of the bed. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 3 cl, 1 tbl
