FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves mechanically treating wearied shaft journals, setting and fixing additional repair articles being repairing semirings to be pressed against the journals and welded in junctions, finishing the journals with the semirings to reach the required sizes. Beside that, repairing semirings are applied, which individual features are selected taking into consideration needed simplifications in assemblage process semiring orientation on journals. Definite repair article thickness range is developed to be applied before the installation done to make choice of journal diameter. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in reconditioning piston skirts. 2 dwg
