FIELD: mechanical engineering; reconditioning of thin-walled bimetallic shells of main and connecting rod bearings. SUBSTANCE: worn out shells are cleaned, their end faces are machined and then pairs are selected by thickness. Cleaned inner surface of shell is coated with glue additional layer of material in form of half-rings is fitted on inner surface and pressed to remove excess glue. After hardening of glue inner surface of shell is machined to preset dimensions and run-in coating is applied. Then shell is sent for preservation and packing. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 3 cl, 3 dwg
