FIELD: rolling equipment. SUBSTANCE: method involves machining worn roll necks for repair parts; mounting composite repair parts on machined surfaces; orienting and drawing parts; welding joints and effectuating welding to necks; working to provide fitting-on for required sizes. Method specifies space value in repair part joints and selection of joint location zones. Designed dependences for selecting roll neck diameters for repair parts and ratios for selecting repair half-circle thickness, depending on neck nominal diameter and parameters of longitudinal neck profile, are represented in Specifications, with repair half-circle size being taking into consideration. EFFECT: increased efficiency by mounting and fixing additional repair parts and enhanced reliability in operation. 9 cl, 4 dwg
