FIELD: railways. SUBSTANCE: intermediate rail joint has block 2 with rims 4 installed on a base. A split with wedge 6 with plane lower face rested on foot of rail 3 and on block 2 from outside of its rim 4 is made in the middle of the rim of block 2. Cross section of wedge 6 corresponds to split shape in rim 4 of block 2. Upper face of the wedge is convex. The face facing rail 3 of vertical projection made in the wedge has radius reply to radius of wheel ridge. The face is joint to the convex upper face of wedge 6 at a distance (O,5.0,6) l from its base, with wedge 6 length l=0,5(b-S); where b is width of rail foot; S is width of rail neck.
