FIELD: agriculture, apiculture. SUBSTANCE: vertical sectional stump comprises at least two dismountable bodies 1, 2 made up of strips 5 interconnected by bracing members 3, 4 and embracing the side surfaces of removable cover 6 and bottom 7. Internal surface of each body is coated with a water-repelling layer while the external surface is provided with a layer of warmth-keeping material 13. Bottoms 7 have vent holes 14. Besides, bottoms and covers 6 have through holes for free passage of bees from one body into the other, aligned with similar holes in covers 5 and bottoms 7 below and above stump bodies. The through holes for the passage of bees are provided with detachable plugs 10. The lower bee-entries/marks/11 of each stump body are arranged at the same level on the opposite walls of the respective body.
