FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method of manufacturing square bars includes melting of metal, its treating in a ladle, feeding of metal into intermediate device and then into crystallizer, moulding, cooling and drawing of ingot. Ingot is cut in regular bars, bars are cooled to the environment temperature and then deformed. Metal of certain chemical composition is fed into crystallizer and ingot of rectangular cross section with sides related in proportion 1,0 to (5,0-7,0) is continuously cast. After ingot is cut in regular gars and they are cooled to environment temperature, the bars along their longitudinal axes are cut in rectangular bars with the sides related in proportion 1,0 to (2,5-3,5). Rectangular bars are heated to 1240-1320 C and deformed with the total reducing degree of 65-80 per cent. Then bars are heated again to 1180-1240 C and definitely deformed with the total reducing degree of 70-95 per cent to receive a square bar. EFFECT: improved quality.
