FIELD: load-lifting devices. SUBSTANCE: lift has guide member 1 in form of toothed rack fixed on wall 2 of building in parallel with stairs flight 3, boarding 4 placed on flight to let invalid chair 5 move, and drive installed in front part of chair for engagement with toothed rack of guide member and disengagement. Lift has additional guide member with toothed rack rigidly secured on wall of building in parallel with stairs flight over main guide member and arranged at definite distance from inclined section of stairs flight. Thanks to it horizontal position of chair when descending from upper stairs landing to lower one is provided. Lift drive is made in form of lever 6 accommodating self- braking motor-reduction gear with self-contained power supply system. Invalid moves up and down the stairs sitting in chair and looking straight ahead in direction of movement. EFFECT: smooth running of chair, cut down time requires for negotiating the stairs. 4 dwg
