METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING IMPLANT POSSESSING ELECTRETIC PROPERTIES TO BE USED IN OSTEOSYNTHESIS Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: medical engineering; traumatology; orthopedics. SUBSTANCE: method involves precipitating in series multilayer coating on the implant placed into vacuum evaporation chamber to apply coating from tantalum as sublayer and tantalum oxide as electretic layer. Implant purification is carried out in vacuum chamber at 10-3-2·10-4 Pa under glow discharge created with 2.9-3.0 A current and 490-510 V voltage during 10-15 min. Then tantalum layer is applied to make coating under electric arch with 188-190 A current and voltage of 25-30 V and bias voltage of 148-150 V applied to the implant for 5-8 min. Then the implant is cooled in vacuum at 10-3-2·10-4 Pa during 35-40 min. The implant coated with tantalum layer is placed into electrolytic bath filled with 0.1% solution of orthophosphoric acid and electrolytic oxidation of the tantalum layer is carried out at 90-110 V with 20-1 A during 20-30 min.
