FIELD: obtaining granulated materials. SUBSTANCE: device has housing constructed as overturned trancated cone opened from the bottom and branch pipe for supplying melt. The perforated ring pipe for supplying coolant is positioned horizontally at the top part of the cone. The cylindric protecting shield is interposed between the ring pipe and branch pipe for supplying melt. The melt is issued from the branch pipes and enters the hopper defined by the coolant. As the melt drops move down in the coolant jet they are solidified and converted into granules. EFFECT: simplified design and enhanced reliability and efficiency. 1 dwg
