FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns molten material granulation technology, particularly obtainment of glassy fertilisers of prolonged effect. Granulation method involves melt feeding in drop form into upper internal part of an upturned cone tank, simultaneously with air jet injection along a tangent to the upper part, creating air swirl and maintaining forward movement of cooling melt drops down the cone along a spiral, and shaped granules move from the cone to collector. Granulation plant includes heating unit containing crucible with bottom pipe in a double-zone furnace, and reception module with an upturned cone, upper hole of which is positioned under the bottom pipe, while its lower hole is connected to the collector. Granulation plant can additionally include a damper platform mounted at upper cone edge to catch falling melt drops, thus facilitating initial granule formation and damping of their velocity.
EFFECT: simplified method of melt granulation, reduced dimensions, improved shape and uniformity of granules obtained.
