FIELD: methods and devices for production of insoluble sulfur. SUBSTANCE: the offered method includes melting of sulfur, mixing of sulfur with stabilizer, heating of melt to temperature exceeding sulfur melting point with continuous agitation, separation of melt into drops accomplished in rarefaction region by air jet. Formed air-drop jet is cooled in atmospheric air. Cooling rate is from 4 x 104•104 to 1 x 101•105 C/s. The device for embodiment of the offered method has extraction column, unit for milling and packaging of insoluble sulfur, unit for air cleaning from suspended matter, vessel for melting and heating of sulfur, outlet for discharge of melt and discharge cock and sulfur jet nozzle. The device also has air blower, separation chamber, air valve with air nozzle and rarefaction chamber. Sulfur jet nozzle is installed coaxially and concentrically to air nozzle.
