FIELD: measurement of moisture content in soil. SUBSTANCE: measurement of a radiolocation signal of an artificial earth satellite dissipated in the upper soil cover is preceded by two additional successive shootings of clouds above the soil cover and adjoining territories within a time interval from 4 to 24 h and ± 3, respectively, then by ground measurements of each type of soil cover in at least one local spot at the controlled depth not more than 24 h before measuring the radiolocation signal and the total amount of precipitation within 12 and 24 h. EFFECT: possibility of measuring moisture content of the upper soil layer during convective precipitation. 1 dwg
