FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: brass contains zinc 19-21% by weight; iron 5-15% by weight; chromium; manganese; boron; silicon; vanadium and aluminum in the form of self-fluxing alloy 0.1-5% by weight, copper the balance. Chromium, manganese, boron, silicon, vanadium and aluminum are introduced into burden as a powder of self-fluxing iron-based alloy. The material is obtained by powder metallurgic method. Upon pressing and sintering the material has structure of α solid solution of zinc in copper. The solution is alloyed by manganese, chromium, boron, aluminum and vanadium, with CuZn intermetallic compound. The material may be used for manufacturing constructional parts. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of parts made from such brass. 1 tbl
