FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: method includes excitation of oscillations of working medium placed into examined liquid, measurement of amplitude of oscillations and determination of its viscosity and density by computation. Float suspended from elastic cord is used in the capacity of working medium. Amplitude of oscillations is found by value of harmonic elongations of elastic cord. Average length of cord by which density is determined is measured in addition. Device for realization of method has vibrator fabricated in the form of float anchored on restoring suspension fabricated in the form of loop of conductive elastic material positioned into shell made of insulation restoring material. Ends of loop are connected to inputs of registration and indication units. EFFECT: increased operational reliability and stability. 4 cl, 1 dwg
