FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: both sides of electrode elements are subjected to working along break line to form conjugate surfaces on butts. Then they are interjoined with the help of threaded elements and or by cementing and/or by welding with exothermic mixtures. Gear to cut thread on electrode elements has tool for thread cutting coupled to mandrel via intermediate link. Intermediate link is manufactured in the form of threading block made fast to mandrel, carrier with window, rack for attachment and movement of cutting tool located in window. Rack is fitted with elements engaging threading block and carrier is adjusted by means of adjustment stops to fix rack and correct backlashes. EFFECT: restoration of broken sections of electrodes for arc furnaces. 7 cl, 7 dwg
