SUBSTANCE: boron particles having particle size of 3-8 mcm are heated and treated with a transition metal compound (titanium or vanadium tetrachloride) in an amount of 0,8•10-4-3,9•10-3 per 1 g of boron at 15-25 C till 0,46• 10-7- 0,67•10-6 of a transition metal compound is formed per 1m2 of the surface of boron particles. The particles are then treated with an organoaluminium compound and alpha-olefin is polymerized in the presence of the resulting particles. EFFECT: more efficient preparation process. 1 tbl
