FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: engine has cylinders 1,2 and 3 with top covers 4,5 and 6 and bottom covers 7,8 and 9 and pistons 10,11 and 12 with rods 13,14 and 15. The exhaust valves 16,17 and 18 are mounted in the center of the top covers. Inlet valves 28,29 and 30 are mounted in the bottom covers. The engine has additionally three by-pass valves 28,29 30 with gates 31,32 and 33. By-pass valves 30,28 and 29 connect above-piston spaces of cylinders 1,2 and 3 with under-piston spaces of cylinders 3,1 and 2, respectively.
